Bentwater Golf Course

Believe it or not, I got a hall pass on Memorial Day, and like all good husbands...I said: "no honey, I'll stay home and do yardwork instead. After all...it's you that deserves the hall pass."

Uh...yeah, right.

So I logged into www.lastminutegolfer.com and found an available tee time at an excellent price, at a course I had never played.

I got my clubs and my camera, threw 'em in the backseat, and headed up north Georgia to a town called Acworth. That's the home of Bentwater golf course.

I paired up with a couple good guys. One I just posted the video of, the other was a true southern gentleman (first question he asked was "what church do you belong to"....very refreshing departure from the standard line: so what do you do for a living).

Actually, that typified my day.

As we played the rolling hills of this relatively new course that works its ways around the homes built in the rarified-air of north Georgia, the families that were grilling-out in their backyards which meet some of the fairways, waved with hearty happy-Memorial-day,-look-what-I'm-grillin' waves. Needless to say, it was also the best smelling course I've ever played!

At the end of the day, that's what it's all about. In the rush of everyday life...it's nice to know places like this still exist where you can let your guard down and be accepted as you are...

...just a golfer that happened to get a hall pass.
Thanks for reading. Keep it in the short-grass,
JFB

Nice way to spend your Memorial Day! Sounds like a nice course. Last year I was down in that area for a few days, played at Brookstone, nice course as well.
